Portrait of Yuluo Anita Wei

About

Yuluo Anita Wei is an independent curator and art appraiser based in Toronto. Known professionally as Anita to her North American collaborators, her practice moves quietly between scholarship, the slow material work of mounting exhibitions, and writing across English and Chinese.

She holds a Master of Visual Studies in Curatorial Practice from the University of Toronto (2020) and a B.B.A. (Hons.) in Applied Economics with Business Management from Wilfrid Laurier University. Currently she is Director of SSEW Project and Curator at Steelcase Art Projects; from 2021 to 2025 she was the founder of San Sheng Art Space in Markham. Recent curatorial work includes Sight of Convergence at the Varley Art Gallery of Markham (2025), FACE/WASTE at Steelcase Art Projects (2024), and Kejie Lin: The Mind's Garden at Newcastle Contemporary Art in the United Kingdom (2023).

Her writing has appeared in Akimblog, Journal of Curating Culture, Toronto News, and CAFA, in both English and Chinese. Since 2025 she has been pursuing accreditation through the International Society of Appraisers (ISA), specializing in contemporary fine art with a focus on Canadian and Asian markets.
